Mayor Hnatiw - Letter of Support for Strathcona County Resolution at the 2020 Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Conference
Proposed Motion
That Council send a letter to Strathcona County supporting the resolution that will be submitted at the 2020 Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Conference advocating for the Government of Canada to work with provinces, municipalities and Indigenous groups to establish a utility corridor that would span from coast to coast, and take steps to increase Canada’s competitiveness while respecting safe and environmentally responsible development, which may include the repeal/amendment of Bill C-48, the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act and Bill C-69, An Act to Enact the Impact Assessment Act and the Canadian Energy Regulator Act.
