City of Edmonton Mosquito Abatement Program
Proposed Motion
That Council approve the City of Edmonton’s 5-year term of permission, from 2018 to 2022, to carry out mosquito control measures on Sturgeon County public lands within the designated program area, under the following conditions:
1. That it operates as an optional program whereby those residents that fall within the designated program area may enter into an agreement to opt in to the program which would grant permission for mosquito control applications on Sturgeon County road allowances adjacent to their property; and
2. That products with the active ingredient Chlorpyrifos will not to be used in their program for applications on Sturgeon County road allowances, without prior notification and approval, unless for West Nile virus or Zika virus outbreak.
